Destroyers are the main force of the screening ship class. They serve in a multitude of roles, from escorting, protecting, and direct combat. Their versatile hull and armament makes them fit for every task a fleet may have.
Historically, the Destroyer arose from the “Torpedoboat Destroyer”, a ship specifically designed to protect capital ships from the then new and deadly torpedo. After torpedo boats merged with frigates and corvettes, and the destroyer itself, the word “torpedoboat” dropped from its name, and is now simply known as Destroyer. With the evolution of submarines and aircraft, its screening role became more and more important, to now being the main composition of most fleets on earth.

Destroyer is fuelled by Coal, Charcoal, Blocks of Coal, and Blocks of Charcoal placed inside an on-board Furnace.
A Destroyer is the perfect capital ship protection. With its many guns, depth charges and torpedoes, it packs a severe enough punch against every vessel, to be a threat or deterrent, while also being cheaper than cruisers. The only downside to a Light Cruiser is the lack of 8inch guns, which makes the effect on battleships lower.
You can use coal blocks as a fuel for ships, making the need for refuelling less often.
