Aircraft carriers, converted hulls, and seaplane carriers are naval vessels designed to launch, recover, and support aircraft operations at sea. These ships enable navies to project air power beyond the range of land-based airfields, allowing effective control of local and regional airspace. They are usually fitted with a large deck, hangars and accommodation for maintenance, fuel and pilots.
They play a strategic role in the protection of fleets, deployment of aircrafts worldwide and in a fast manner.
Historically, the first aircraft carriers were built shortly after the First World War, with their predecessors being seaplane carriers or tenders, built for reconnaissance.

A screen of destroyers and light cruisers is essential to protect your carrier from submarines and enemy battlefleets.
Carriers are vulnerable against torpedoes, enemy ships and aircraft, and should not be in direct combat action. Try to keep them distant from the fighting.
