Shipyards allow you to print previously saved crafts with ease. There is no defined design for a shipyard — it can be a plain platform or a detailed dock, as big or small as you like.
Avoid natural terrain blocks like grass, gravel, or raw stone as the main structure; almost any other block is fine.
A larger shipyard can handle bigger prints more easily.
The Printing function lets you quickly rebuild saved crafts — not just ships, but any type of craft — using a Shipyard.
This is useful for replacing damaged builds and mass-producing designs.
To use this function, you need the Mechanic rank.
Build your craft as normal.
Find a good spot to place the save sign, ideally at the ship’s waterline (if it’s a ship) and towards the stern.
The point where you place this sign is where printing will start when you rebuild the craft later.
Place a sign and set it up as follows:
Repair:
<Custom Vehicle Name>
The name for said craft should be one that you can remember to print out a vehicle later.
Hold a torch and double left-click the sign to save the craft.
Place the exact same save sign on your Shipyard platform.
Pilot the Shipyard using: /pilot shipyard
Double right-click the sign to start printing.
Make sure all required materials are in a chest on the Shipyard before you start — printing will use these items.
