Trains are the fastest ground vehicle and can reach up to a speed of 28 bps in HOM. These are intended for quick transportation and support as multiple segments can be attached to a train.
Trains can only move if it is directly above rail blocks. A list of considerations is given below to keep in mind while constructing a working and efficient railway system.
A Train may be between 300 and 4500 blocks.
A Train cannot carry any armament.
A Train's engine can produce an output of:
Trains can only move if they are directly above a rail block like the Smooth Stone block. The tracks of the train should consist of a Spruce Slab crossbeam every two rail blocks, check the example Train image provided above.
Another point to note is that the bed of the rails (the blocks directly below the rail) must be either Andesite or Gravel blocks.
The distance between the two parallel rails (the length of crossbeam) can be however much as needed by the player. Trains can also go up and down a slope.
The following blocks can be used to construct a Train:
| Anvil | Banner | Barrel | Bell | Blast Furnace | Bookshelf | Brewing Stand |
| Bricks | Button | Cake | Calcite | Campfire | Candle | Carpet |
| Cartography Table | Cauldron | Chain | Chest | Chiseled Deepslate | Coal Block | Comparator |
| Concrete | Cracked Nether Bricks | Crafting Table | Daylight Detector | Deepslate Bricks (all) | Deepslate Tiles (all) | Dispenser |
| Door | End Stone Bricks | Fence | Fence Gate | Fire | Fletching Table | Flower Pot |
| Furnace | Glass | Glass Pane | Glowstone | Grindstone | Hay Block | Honey Block |
| Hyphae (all) | Iron Bars | Iron Block | Ladder | Lantern | Lectern | Lever |
| Lightning Rod | Log (all) | Loom | Nether Bricks | Note Block | Observer | Planks |
| Polished Andesite | Polished Blackstone | Polished Blackstone Bricks (all) | Polished Deepslate | Polished Diorite | Polished Granite | Pressure Plate (all) |
| Prismarine Bricks | Quartz Bricks | Raw Copper Block | Red Nether Bricks | Redstone | Redstone Block | Redstone Lamp |
| Redstone Torch | Repeater | Scaffolding | Sea Lantern | Signs | Slab | Slime Block |
| Smoker | Soul Campfire | Soul Lantern | Soul Torch | Stairs | Stem (all) | Sticky Piston |
| Stone Bricks (all) | Target Block | Tinted Glass | TNT | Torch | Trapdoor | Trapped Chest |
| Tripwire Hook | Tuff | Wall | Waxed Copper (all) | Wood (all) | Wool | End Rod |
To pilot a Train, you may use the command /pilot Train while standing on an eligible Train. Alternatively, you may right click a sign on the craft that has Train written on the first line.
Train is fuelled by Coal, Charcoal, Blocks of Coal, and Blocks of Charcoal placed inside an on-board Furnace.
Having a complex and sophisticated rail system across a town or nation is sure-fire way to showcase development and ease of transportation.
