¶ Brewery
BreweryX is a multi-stage brewing system. Getting a perfect brew requires precise ingredient ratios, exact cooking times, the right number of distillation runs, the correct barrel wood, and sufficient aging time. A good brewer reads their recipes carefully, tracks their batches, and doesn't rush.

¶ The Brewing Process
Every drink follows the same three-stage process. Skipping or rushing any stage produces lower quality or worthless output.
¶ STAGE 1 — COOKING (CAULDRON)
- Fill a cauldron with water and light a fire beneath it.
- Add the correct ingredients. Each recipe requires specific items in specific quantities.
- Wait exactly the cookingtime (in real-world minutes) shown in the recipe. Overcooking ruins the batch.
- Use a glass bottle on the cauldron to collect the brew.
¶ STAGE 2 — DISTILLING (BREWING STAND)
*Not all recipes require distillation. Check the 'distillruns' value in the recipe. If it is 0, skip to barrel aging.
- Place your cooked brew into a Brewing Stand.
- Add Glowstone Dust as the ingredient (this triggers distillation in BreweryX).
- Each distillation run takes approximately 40 seconds by default. Some recipes have custom distil times.
- Repeat the exact number of times the recipe requires. Over-distilling degrades quality.
¶ STAGE 3 — AGING (BARREL)
*Not all recipes require barrel aging. If the 'age' value is 0, the brew is ready after distilling.
- Build a wooden barrel. Vanilla barrels work as well (provides 6 slots).
- The barrel must be made from the correct wood type specified in the recipe.
- Place your brews inside the barrel. Right-click to open it.
- Wait the required 'age' in Towny years. One Towny year = 20 real-world minutes.
- Remove brews when aging is complete. Over-aging some recipes can still improve quality — check the app.
¶ Building Barrels
¶ SMALL BARREL (8 SLOTS)
- Place 8 wooden planks in a 2×2×2 cube shape.
- Attach a fence post to any face.
- Right-click the fence post with an empty hand to name it. Type a name for the barrel.
¶ LARGE BARREL (27 SLOTS)
Requires a specific multi-block structure. Build it exactly as shown:
- 4 wide × 2 tall × 1 deep arrangement of wood planks.
- 4 stair blocks on the top and bottom (matching the plank type).
- 1 fence gate on the front face as the door.
- Right-click the fence gate with an empty hand to name it.
⚠ Wrong wood type, wrong structure, or wrong aging time all reduce quality. Precision is everything.
¶ Quality System
Every brew has three quality levels: bad, normal, and good. Quality depends on precision — the closer you are to the exact recipe values, the higher your quality.

| Good (3 stars) | Precise ingredient amounts, exact cooking time, correct distil runs, right wood, correct aging time. |
| Normal (2 stars) | Slightly off on one or two parameters. Still drinkable. |
| Bad (1 star) | Significantly off on multiple parameters. Minimal effect or negative side effects. |
¶ Alcohol & Effects
- Drinking alcohol increases your intoxication level. Higher intoxication causes screen wobbling, movement impairment, and eventually causes your character to pass out.
- Some drinks have special potion effects — check individual recipes.
- Coffee and hot chocolate have negative alcohol values — they sober you up.
- You can drink water or milk to reduce intoxication.
¶ Brew Sealing
Sealing a brew using a Brew Sealing Table is required if you want to sell your finished alcoholic drinks in chestshops. It permanently sets the drink’s stats, standardizes multiple batches of the same brew, and hides its recipe details. To craft a sealing table, place two glass bottles on the top row, with four wooden planks (of any type) in a square directly underneath them.
